You may be asked to avoid eating for several hours before your exam so the organs can be seen clearly.

Pelvic & Obstetrical Ultrasound

A full bladder is often required. You may be asked to drink water beforehand and avoid emptying your bladder.

Do I need a requisition?

Yes. A requisition from your physician or healthcare provider is required for diagnostic imaging. You can download our requisition form from this website and bring it with you, along with your valid health card.

How do I book an appointment?

What should I bring?

Please bring your valid health card and your physician's requisition form. Arrive a few minutes early, and follow any exam-specific preparation instructions provided when booking.

How long does an ultrasound take?

Most ultrasound exams take between 20 and 45 minutes depending on the type of scan. We will give you an estimate when you book.

When will my doctor receive results?

Your images are interpreted by qualified professionals and a report is sent to your referring physician. Please follow up with your physician to discuss your results.

Can the technologist tell me my results?

Findings are not discussed by clinic staff. Your results are reported to your referring physician, who will review them with you.

Do I need to prepare for my ultrasound?

Some exams require preparation, such as fasting for an abdominal scan or a full bladder for a pelvic scan. Please confirm preparation instructions with the clinic when booking.

Do you offer obstetrical ultrasound?

Yes. We offer obstetrical ultrasound including dating, 18 to 20 week morphology, and third trimester assessments as requested by your physician.

Do you offer musculoskeletal ultrasound?

Yes. We provide musculoskeletal ultrasound for shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands, hips, knees, ankles, soft tissue, and more.
