Preparation depends on the stage of pregnancy and the type of scan. Early pregnancy scans often require a full bladder, so you may be asked to drink water beforehand and avoid emptying your bladder before the exam.

What to Expect

Please bring your valid health card and your requisition. During the scan, a water-based gel is applied to the abdomen and a probe is moved gently over the area to capture images. In some early pregnancy situations, a transvaginal approach may be used when clinically appropriate and with your consent.

The exam is performed with care for your comfort and privacy throughout.

Your Results

Your images are reviewed and interpreted by qualified professionals, and a report is sent to your referring physician or midwife, who will discuss the findings and any next steps with you. Clinic staff are not able to share or interpret results during your visit.
